A good philosophy to live by.
A girl watched a butterfly trying to break free from its cocoon. She could see the butterfly was struggling against the constraints of the silk. It seemed to make progress by pushing part of its wing out of the cocoon, but then it would flop back inside again. The girl wanted to help the butterfly, so she got some scissors and cut the cocoon. The butterfly tumbled out of the cocoon and landed on the ground. And that’s where it lay. It tried to spread its wings, but it couldn’t. it was stuck there on the ground immobilised, and that’s where it stayed and that’s where it died.
Getting out of the cocoon is a hard work for butterflies and it takes time. But process of fighting against the constraints of the silk is necessary for them to learn to use their wings. Without the struggle, their own personal struggle in their own time, they will never be able to fly..
